Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
The Feb. 13 Special Election initial results have all local measures passing, including Replacement Educational Programs and Operation levies in four local school districts, and a capital improvement levy for the Ritzville Water Park.
Countywide, the voter turnout was 28.26 percent with 1,864 tabulated in the initial count.
For the Washtucna School District, the levy received 58 votes in favor for an approval percentage of 69.88. The levy amount to be collected is $79,075 per year, beginning in 2019.
The Benge School District received 100 percent of votes in favor of the levy. It is set at a $40,000 per year collection rate for 2019-2020.
For the Lind School District, the levy is passing with 136 votes in favor for 77.71 percent of total votes. The levy is set for an amount of $465,000 in 2019 and $511,000 in 2020.
The Ritzville School District levy is currently passing after receiving 365 votes in favor for 65.77 percent. The levy is set for a collection amount of $596,719 in 2019 and $656,391 in 2020.
The Ritzville Park and Recreation 4 Proposition No. 1 Capital Improvement Levy had 374 votes in favor for a total of 67.88 percent of votes.
The measure is for a collection amount of $90,000 for resurfacing the lap pool at the Ritzville Water Park. The collection rate is estimated at $.26 per $1,000 for assessed valuation in 2018.
