Special election for East Columbia Basin Irrigation District

Through a petition by landowners, the East Columbia Basin Irrigation District is having a special district-wide election for Feb. 8.

All landowners within the district are encouraged to vote in the election.

The special election is being held because the Odessa Groundwater Replacement Project (OGWRP) will add 87,000 acres of Columbia Basin Project surface water, which will be managed by the East Columbia Basin Irrigation District.

With this addition, the board is in need of two landowners to represent the OGWRP.

Landowners can vote in person, or request an absentee ballot by contacting the district office at 509-488-9671.
