Local school districts in Adams County, and the Adams County Park and Recreation District No. 4 have placed propositions on the upcoming Feb. 13 Special Election ballot.
Previously known as the Maintenance and Operation (M&O) levies, the Educational Programs and Operation levies are serving as replacement levies.
Due to a change at the state level, all local school levies are $1.50 collection rate per $1,000 of assessed value, which is a decrease in collection amount for all local districts.
For the Washtucna School District, the two-year Replacement Educational Programs and Operation Levy amount to be collected is $79,075 per year, beginning in 2019.
The two-year Replacement Educational Programs and Operation Levy for the Benge School District is set at a $40,000 per year collection rate for 2019-2020.
The collection rate for the two-year Lind School District, Replacement Educational Programs and Operation Levy is set for an amount of $465,000 in 2019 and $511,000 in 2020.
For the Ritzville School District, the two-year Replacement Educational Programs and Operation Levy is set for a collection amount of $596,719 in 2019 and $656,391 in 2020.
The Adams County Park and Recreation District No. 4 has placed a capital improvement levy on the ballot.
If approved, the measure would authorize the Ritzville-based district to collect $90,000 for resurfacing the lap pool at the Ritzville Water Park.
The collection rate is estimated at $.26 per $1,000 for assessed valuation in 2018.
