Sept. 9, 10:31 a.m. – A Lind complainant advised of a gate on South First Street appearing to be pushed in. Deputy Jeff Lane arrived at the scene and determined the gate was broken and someone entered the property. Lane attempted to contact the last known owner to verify if there has been a crime committed. The landowner is apparently deceased and their child will come down and check on the property. It is unknown if anything is missing from the property.

Sept. 9, 11:25 a.m. – A Hatton complainant advised of abandoned dogs and chickens on First Avenue. Pet Rescue was contacted and advised they would send workers to the residence to take custody of the animals.

Sept. 9, 9:03 p.m. – A Ritzville complainant called about messages they received from an elderly subject who possibly had items stolen while out of state. When Deputy Hunter Klewin called, he was advised the complainant was not accepting calls.

Sept. 10, 3:15 p.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised of sugar in his gas tank on the 1500 block of West First Avenue. Complainant believes this happened within Ritzville at their residence.

Sept. 10, 6:26 p.m. – Financial fraud was reported on West First Street in Lind. Subject advised that $150 was used from their EBT card and several checks were missing from their checkbook.

Sept. 11, 12:38 p.m. – A Washtucna complainant on South Church Street requested assistance regarded unwanted social media posts. Deputy Ned Bernath contacted complainant who advised a third party from out of Adams County that he had seen the comments that were threatening in nature. Complainant advised the messages are gone and there is no copy of them and requested their family be contacted about the messages. Bernath complied and contacted the complainant’s family.

Sept. 11, 8:20 p.m. – A Washtucna compliant advised the church on the 700 block of Booth Avenue was receiving vulgar calls from an unknown subject. Deputy Bernath contacted a subject, who advised they received the messages on the church phone. Both the complainant and subject believe the caller had contacted the wrong number.

Sept. 12, 9:15 a.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised they found a note writing on a roll of toilet paper stating “Help, I’m in a Buick,” and said there was a Buick in the parking lot with three individuals. Deputy Bernath arrived and made contact with the subject in the vehicle away from the other two occupants. Subject said they were fine with the other occupants.

Sept. 12, 4:16 p.m. – A Lind complainant pm South Lutcher Avenue advised while he was a way, a subject was looking for them and handed their neighbor a shotgun shell as a message. Complainant believed this was a threat. Deputy Bernath later made contact with complainant, who said this was a misunderstanding with a friend of his.

Sept. 14, 8:18 a.m. – Deputy Joe Phillips assisted Grant County INET with a drug search in Moses Lake.

Sept. 16, 12 a.m. – Deputy Klewin stopped a subject for failing to stop at a Stop sign in at East Second and North I streets in Lind. Driver was cited and released for third-degree driving while license suspended.

Sept. 16, 5:29 p.m. – A Lind complainant advised of drug activity on West Main Street. Complainant did not witness any hand-to-hand transitions but believed there was drug activity based on the foot traffic going to and from the building.

Sept. 16, 9:40 p.m. – A Washtucna complainant advised their relative was intoxicated, had torn down her sign and drove through someone’s yard on South Main Street. When Deputy Klewin arrived the complainant would not give a statement or cooperate. The property owner did not want to be a victim either.

Sept. 18, 1:45 p.m. – A possible domestic situation was reported on Second Avenue in Hatton. Deputy Juan Garcia traveled to the area and contacted the subjects. Garcia learned the issue was only a dispute.

Sept. 18, 2:51 p.m. – A Hatton complainant advised of a subject hiding in a trailer when law enforcement was looking for them. Once law enforcement arrived left the area, the subject exited the trailer and appeared armed with a firearm. Units responded to the area and searched for the subject. Units could not locate the subject.

Sept. 19, 8:28 a.m. – Sergeant Ben Buriak assisted the Ritzville Police Department on a domestic situation on the 200 block of North Adams Street.

Sept. 19, 11:55 a.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised a window was broken out of a vehicle. Deputy Bernath made contact with the vehicle the day before and the window was not damaged. Bernath contacted the listed owner and advised them of the window. The owner explained the car broke down and they are in the process of having it removed from the area. Bernath told the owner they would have to move it or it would be towed to prevent further damages.

Sept. 19, 8:11 p.m. – Reckless driving was reported on East Highway 25, Milepost 96 in Washtucna.

Sept. 20, 2:46 p.m. – Dispatch advised of a single vehicle rollover with injury on North Johnson Road, North of Highway 26, in Lind. The vehicle was on its top against a power pole. The power company arrived to replace the pole and the vehicle was removed. The driver was transported to Othello Community Hospital.

Sept. 21, 3:52 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was reported on West Hampton Street in Hatton.

Sept. 22, 7:06 a.m. – A Lind complainant reported items stolen on the 100 block of West First Street. Deputy Bernath arrived at the scene and processed the area.

Sept. 22, 10:42 a.m. – A traffic accident with damages was reported in Ritzville, on South Highway 21, Milepost 31.

Sept. 22, 12:19 p.m. – A Hatton complainant advised of an unknown vehicle on South Lind-Hatton Road. Deputy Phillips contacted the registered owner, who stated they sold it and would contact the new owner about getting it removed.

Sept. 23, 4:01 a.m. – Dispatch advised of a subject walking in the middle of the road waving their arms and a vehicle with dim headlights on the side of the road. Deputy Hunter Klewin checked the area and was unable to locate the vehicle or the subject.
