Residents and visitors who are in the Town of Lind on Oct. 28 may notice a group of people who look like zombies roaming around the neighborhood.
The Lind Chamber of Commerce will host its first Halloween Weekend at the Lind Town Park on Oct. 28-29, with several activities planned for both days
On Saturday, Oct. 28, the event kicks off with the Zombie Walk at 4 p.m.
Participants in the event will start at the Town Park and walk down Second Street before turning at North I Street and marching up to Third Street.
From Third Street, participants will walk to North S Street, then march down Second Street and return to the park.
The Zombie Walk is free for everyone, and walkers do not have wear costumes to particpate in the Zombie Walk.
Before the Zombie Walk, there will be a zombie costume contest where judges will award first, second and third place in the following age categories: 6-10 years old, 11-17 years old and 18 years and older.
Admission to enter the costume contest is $5. There will also be face painting for anyone who wants to be transformed into a zombie.
After the Zombie Walk, attendees can visit vendors or walk to the metal building at the end of the park and play the Zombie Shoot paintball game.
During each session, six participants will fire paintball rounds at various targets Admission for the Zombie Shoot is $5 for 10 paintballs and $10 for 20 paintballs.
The first night of the Zombie Walk wraps up with a movie sponsored by the Lind Chamber of Commerce.
Sunday night begins with Trunk or Treat near the park, where young children and their families will go from car to car, collecting candy. Residents can decorate their vehicles and participate in Trunk or Treat as well.
There will also be a cake walk and a free kids costume contest where first, second and third place will be awarded in the following age categories: 0-6 years old and 7-11 years old.
Sunday night activities will include the Zombie Shoot and a movie sponsored by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
More activities and vendors may be added to the Zombie Walk in the weeks leading up to the event.
