Five teachers join Lind-Ritzville Cooperative Schools staff: Morgan Walker

Five new full-time teachers joined the ranks of Lind-Ritzville Cooperative Schools this year.

Charlie Moffet, Kate Gantz and Morgan Walker currently teach at Ritzville Grade School. Allyssa Barnett joined the staff at Lind Elementary School and Christina Heater was hired at Lind-Ritzville Middle School.

Morgan Walker, a fifth-grade teacher, grew up in Raymond, Washington. After she graduated high school, Walker earned a degree in elementary education from EWU. Before she became a full-time teacher, Walker was a student teacher in the Lakeland School District in Rathdrum, Idaho.

Walker, who has a love for kids, realized she wanted to become a teacher when she was three years old.

In her first year, Walker wants to build relationships with her students and is focused on making her classroom a family atmosphere. During the first week of school, Walker had her students working on group projects and lessons together.

Walker enjoys running, hiking and amusement parks. She also enjoys spending time with her two cats, Isabella and Alfie.
