Five new full-time teachers joined the ranks of Lind-Ritzville Cooperative Schools this year.
Charlie Moffet, Kate Gantz and Morgan Walker currently teach at Ritzville Grade School.
Allyssa Barnett joined the staff at Lind Elementary School and Christina Heater was hired at Lind-Ritzville Middle School.
Charlie Moffet, who teaches kindergarten, grew up in Odessa. Moffet said she became a teacher because she loves working with kids, and both her father and grandmother were teachers.
After Moffet graduated high school, she attended EWU and earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education with an endorsement in literacy. Moffet was a long-term substitute first-grade teacher for the Othello School District before she came to Ritzville.
This year, Moffet wants to help her students grow into kind people, and set a good tone that will follow them throughout their time in school.
When she is not in her classroom, Moffet is spending time with her family and friends, making arts and crafts and traveling. Moffet is also planning her wedding with her fiance and recently started the work for her master’s degree.
