Aug. 13, 7:45 a.m. – A Lind complainant advised dispatch of a single-vehicle collision on West First Street. Deputy Juan Garcia responded to the area and took a report after he found no one was in need of medical assistance.

Aug. 13, 9:39 a.m. – A Washtucna complainant advised of a subject threatening them over text message. It was determined to be a conversation between the two parties.

Aug. 13, 10:12 a.m. –

A Ritzville complainant advised of a domestic situation near westbound Interstate 90, Milepost 224. One of the parties was arrested and booked into jail for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence.

Aug. 13, 12:15 p.m., - A Lind complainant called, stating they could hear a verbal domestic situation on South Lutcher Avenue. Both parties involved had warrants out of Adams County and were booked into jail. There was no physical altercation.

Aug. 13, 12:41 p.m., –

A Lind complainant advised of a subject in a silver car driving erratically and braking in front of their car on the corner of East Second and North I streets. The subject later drove past and flipped them off. The subject was not at home when Deputy Hunter Klewin attempted to contact them.

Aug. 14, 7:44 a.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised of a subject yelling at West Main Avenue. Sergeant Ben Buriak and Deputy Ned Bernath contacted the subject at the address. The subject advised they were upset at the individuals living at the location because they owe money and they don’t work. The subject advised they would leave the area and Bernath notified the subject of their options to file a claim through the civil process.

Aug. 14, 10:26 a.m. –

A Lind complainant advised of a subject hanging around City Hall. The subject wanted a water deposit back and was told it had been applied to the water bill. The complainant requested a deputy contact City Hall. Prior to Deputy Bernath’s arrival, the complainant called back and advised the subject left the area.

Aug. 14, 3:46 p.m. –

A Hatton complainant advised of an animal problem on Apple Alley Lane. Complainant advised their sibling was taking their dog on a walk when a neighbor’s dog ran to their location and attacked their dog. The incident is under investigation.

Aug. 14, 3:49 p.m., –

A Lind complainant advised of an animal problem on South Lutcher Avenue. Deputy Bernath called dispatch to advised he contacted a neighbor at the corner of Lutcher Avenue and First Streets and the neighbor has been taking care of the dog.

Aug. 14, 5:31 p.m. – A Lind complainant reported a theft from their vehicle four days prior to their call. Deputy Klewin learned the complainant left their doors unlocked at Winco in Moses Lake. Klewin referred the complainant to the Moses Lake Police Department to see if there was footage of a vehicle prowl at Winco.

Aug. 14, 6:23 p.m. – A subject on East Danekas Road was in a single-vehicle collision. The subject was booked into jail for driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs and second-degree driving while license suspended.

Aug. 16, 1 a.m. – A Washtucna complainant advised of a subject coming by their house on North A Street and asked questions about the property next door. Complainant told the subject they did not know. The subject advised they wanted to drive on the property to check the four-wheel drive and was going to do it anyways. Complainant requested additional patrols because the encounter made them feel uncomfortable and felt the subject was casing the house to break in.

Aug. 17, 1:41 a.m. – A Washtucna complainant on North Main Street advised their neighbor was working on a car noisily.

Aug. 17, 1:16 p.m. – A Lind complainant advised they received a call from someone claiming to be the IRS. Complainant was told they had a warrant for their arrest and the caller was cussing a lot. Complainant advised this is a scam.

Aug. 17, 7:18 p.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised they knew of someone in the area who had a warrant out for their request and requested to speak to a deputy.

Aug. 17, 7:53 p.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised of a non-injury collision at Deal and Rosenoff roads.

Aug. 17, 11:10 p.m. A Washtucna complainant advised of a subject revving engines and making noise on South Main Street. Deputy Jeff Lane was unable to locate any disturbance.

Aug. 18, 4:21 a.m. – A Ritzville complainant on East Lind-Ralston Road advised their child needed a mental health evaluation. Upon contacting subject by phone, the complainant advised they would be transporting the subject to East Adams Rural Healthcare. The subject’s caseworker said to contact the Sheriff’s Office for a commitment. Complainant was told to call the Sheriff’s Office for any further assistance.

Aug. 18, 8:19 a.m. –

A Lind complainant advised of a four-door car stuck in their field on West Providence and North Roxboro roads.

Aug. 18, 12:33 p.m. – A Washtucna complainant requested contact with a deputy regarding disruptive residents on North Main Street. Complainant is very upset and advised there is yelling, doors slamming, engines revving and people spinning their tires late into the evening. Complainant requested more patrols and subjects to be held accountable for their actions. Deputy Bernath advised the complainant to call when this activity is taking place. The complainant was also advised that more deputies will attempt to be in the area much more often as calls permit.

Aug. 19, 12:35 p.m. –

Deputy Darryl Barnes assisted a stranded motorist and transported them to a nearby gas station.

Aug. 19, 7:38 p.m. – A Washtucna complainant advised of four wheelers in the area of North Main Street. Sergeant Tomas Solano was unable to locate the four wheelers.

Aug. 20, 8:32 a.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised of a subject asking for assistance on West First Avenue. The complainant referred them to the Sheriff’s Office. Complainant also advised the subject was hitting a minor and treating them badly. Complainant came to the Sheriff’s Office prior to the call. The subject was later contacted on an unrelated matter. The juvenile denied being struck and no signs of an assault were found. Deputy Lane left a message with the complainant asking them to call back. The juvenile’s parent was contacted and knew where their child was and who were they were with.

Aug. 20, 11:22 a.m. – Deputy Lane assisted the Washington State Patrol with a consent search on West Interstate 90 and Milepost 214.

Aug. 20, 1:36 p.m. –

Deputy Lake assisted the Ritzville Police Department with a reported burglary in progress.

Aug. 20, 6:46 p.m. – A Sprague complainant advised of a suspicious person and vehicle near his truck East of the Interstate 90 overpass. Washington State Patrol made contact with the vehicle prior to Deputy Lane’s arrival and found the subject was taking photographs and cleared the stop.

Aug. 20, 7:45 p.m. – A Ritzville complainant called the Sheriff’s Office and reported a subject was calling their residence on North Highway 261. The protection order for the complainant has not been served to the subject.

Aug. 20, 8:21 p.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised the vehicle they were driving Northbound on Highway 395 broke down. Complainant pulled it over to North Paha-Packard Road and safely off the roadway. The complainant’s parent arranged a tow.

Aug. 21, 8:22 a.m. – A Washtucna complainant requested a call only to report two potted plants were taken from North Main Street. Complainant just wanted the Sheriff’s Office to be aware of the activity.

Aug. 21, 9:17 a.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised of a vehicle in the area of their residence on East Heinemann Road.

Aug. 21, 1:50 p.m. – A Washtucna complainant advised of subjects riding quad runners around town. Deputy Bernath arrived in the area and located tire marks in the gravel on the side streets from a quad runner no longer in the area. Bernath made contact with a subject who was riding a small dirt bike next to the roadway at slow speed. Bernath advised them that is was not legal to ride their bike on the street easement without a properly licensed vehicle and insurance. Subject said they understood.

Aug. 22, 12:24 a.m. –

A Lind complainant returned home and front door was open on West Vulcan Street. Deputy Klewin entered the house and found no one inside the residence.
