Roy Gallion, age 85, died Aug. 16 at the North Central Care Center in Spokane.
Roy was born Aug. 20, 1931, in Malta, Montana, to parents William and Lucille (Baker) Gallion. He had three sisters and one brother.
Roy’s father, William, was a heavy equipment operator following his work. In 1941, the Gallion family left Montana for employment in Oregon, California, back to Oregon and then to Washington.
Roy graduated from Lind High School and after working with his father on the farm, served in the US Navy for four years on a U. S. Navy destroyer, the USS George K. McKenzie DD836, during the Korean War.
Roy married and was the father to two sons and two daughters. Following in his father’s footsteps, he worked at various jobs, mostly as a heavy equipment operator in construction.
Roy is survived by his sons, Neil (Dena) and Wilbur (Pamela), daughters, Laurel (Alan) Eschenbacher and Diane (Steve) Gill, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three more on the way. He is also survived by three sisters, Sharon Englehart, Lind, Darlene Abney, Pendleton, Oregon, and Karen Tinkham, Spokane, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and little brother, Wilbur Hugh. There will be no service.
