Special Filing Period open Aug. 7-9 for local positions

Multiple offices did not receive filings during candidate filing week and has opened for a three-day special filing period on Aug. 7-9. Only the positions that did not have candidates file will be open during this period.

In Lind, the Lind School Board has a position opening for Director Position Five. It is a four-year term, previously held by Rena Wahl.

For the City of Ritzville, Council Ward Position Five is open. Michael Schrag previously held this four-year position.

For the Town of Washtucna, a candidate is needed to fill the Council Position Four position. Thomas “Tooter” Hays previously served in the four-year term.

For Fire District Six, Commissioner Position Two is open for filing. Fritz Coon is the current incumbent for the six-year term.

Fire District Seven also has an opening for Commissioner Position One. David Baumann previously held the six-year term.

For Washtucna Park and Recreation District Two, Commissioner Positions Three, Four and Five are available for filing. All three positions are a four-year term.

Ritzville’s Park and Recreation Four has the Commissioner Position One available for filing. Kandis Duff previously served in the four-year term.
