Rexford Wayne Dainty

Rexford Wayne Dainty, 78, died at home in Pasco on Wednesday, July 19.

Rex was born on April 27, 1939, in Pittsburg, Kansas. He resided in Kansas until his sophomore year in high school when the family moved to Spokane.

Rex graduated from John Rogers High School in 1958 and married Sharon Holmes later that year. They moved to Washtucna in June 1963 where he enjoyed farming until his retirement.

Rex was very involved in the community of Washtucna. He served on several boards including the Washtucna Cemetery, Washtucna Grange Supply, Washtucna Grain Growers as well as the Ritzville Hospital Board.

Rex was very active in the Washtucna Lions Club for 42 years. He was also an Elder of the Washtucna Community Church.

His daughter, Lori Meline, died three days after his death.

He leaves behind his wife Sharon of 58 years; his sons Wayne (Monica) and Brian (Danna) and son-in-law Mike Meline; grandchildren Mikaela, Miranda (Eric Ruiter) and Marissa Meline; Kevin and Kyla Dainty; Heather and Amber (Kota) Dainty, as well as a great-granddaughter Indie Ruiter.

He also leaves behind two brothers Eddie (Ruth) Dainty and Norman (Debbie) Stone and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rex was a kind and generous man and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
