Ritzville Fire Chief provides firework safety tips

Ritzville Fire Department Chief Bill Banner is reminding area residents to be cautious this Fourth of July holiday with the use of fireworks.

Residents are asked to abide by all local laws regarding the use of fireworks. All firework labels should be read prior to igniting the fireworks, Banner said.

A responsible adult should supervise all firework activities at all times, and fireworks should never be given to children.

Alcohol and fireworks do not mix, Banner said, and alcohol should not be consumed while lighting off fireworks.
