Registration open for youth Stimulating Summers Day Camp

The Stimulating Summers Day Camp is open to ages 6-13 and runs July 3-August 11 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The cost is $50 per week and scholarships are available.

The Stimulating Summers: Enriching Young Lives Summer Day Camp Program provides a structured recreational learning environment for children throughout the summer.

The Summer Camp will also participate with the Lind Summer Feeding Program, which will provide a morning snack and lunch, as well as a local library program.

The Summer Camp will be based out of the Lind Elementary School, but will move throughout the community in order to utilize the city park, pool and other community locations. Parents will only need to pick up and drop off their children at the school, and they will then be transported to the various locations.

Children are welcome to register for a single week, or can sign up for multiple weeks as well. The program is limited to the first 30 applicants per week.

Registration is still open for every week of the camp and parents can sign their children up online at the Facebook page, http://facebook.com/StimulatingSummers. Each week will have a different theme and include a field trip, meals, crafts, library visits, games and activities.

The first week of activities runs from July 3-7, with no programs on the Fourth of July holiday. The focus of the week is to Build a Better World, and the field trip will be to the Inland NW Rail Museum.

The second week runs from July 10-14, and participants will focus on exploring nature. The scheduled field trip is to Fort Spokane.

During the third week of activities on July 17-21, children participating in the program will focus on Adventurous Art. The group will take a trip to the Lincoln County Historical Museum during the week.

The fourth week of the Day Camp, from July 24-28, includes Vacation Bible School. The two groups will focus on Fun Science.

During the fifth week on July 31-Aug. 4, they will explore the topic, Wild With Water. The participants will take a field trip to the Grand Coulee Dam.

The final week of the Day Camps runs from Aug. 7-11. During the final week, children will participate in Space Camp and will have the opportunity to take a trip to the Mobius Science Center.

Financial aid is available for those who qualify. All checks for the program should be made payable to the Ritzville Library Foundation, with Summer Camp and the child’s name in the memo line.
