Burn ban in effect until Oct. 1

Adams County Fire District No. 2 Chief Kevin Starring posted a burn ban for residents in the district from June 18 to Oct. 1.

No open fires for burning of vegetation or other matter are permitted in town or in rural areas.

Agricultural burns with permits and backyard recreational fires are still allowed.

Starring also reminded citizens that as drying conditions become more severe to take extra care with barbecues, cigarettes and fireworks.
