The LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus track and field team traveled to the State Championships with five athletes competing at the meet on May 26-27.
The team not only recorded top finishes, but also set multiple personal records.
The LWK Tigercats girls’ team earned 19 points during the meet, and placed 13th in the state.
Junior athlete Jazzmyn Gordon recorded the highest placing of the day for the team, earning second place in discus with a throw of 105-00.
The performance not only moved Gordon to the podium, but also served as a personal record for her in the event.
Gordon’s success continued with a seventh place finish in the high jump. She set an individual season record with a jump of 4-10.
Teammate Autumn Meyers also found her rhythm in her personal events, netting a fifth place finish and a ninth place finish. Meyers set personal records in the javelin and high jump events during the State Meet.
Meyers also received the Sportsmanship Award after a clerical error moved her off of the podium in the javelin contest.
Rounding out the success of the day, Alynn Harder stepped up to set another personal record in the javelin. Harder placed fourth in the competition, with a throw of 112-01.
