Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
I’d like to take this opportunity to update you on recent city issues.
First, last week with the new branding process for the City of Ritzville was a smashing success. Julie Flyckt of the Adams County Economic Development Council (ACDC) has been the driving force on this effort and deserves everyone’s thanks.
This branding also included a partnership between the Chamber of Commerce and the City. Five roundtable discussions and a public meeting involved many of you in the community, and your input was appreciated and critical to the outcome of this project.
Tripp Muldrow of Arnett Muldrow and Associates proposed the concept to the Branding Steering Committee on Friday afternoon before departing for home.
Our committee will be working on a marketing plan with Tripp in June to announce the branding later this summer. It’s quite exciting although there is a lot of work to be done between now and the launch date.
I also want to acknowledge the Hometown Heroes Luncheon that several of us from the community attended last Wednesday, April 26, at the Spokane Convention Center, sponsored by the American Red Cross.
Ritzville volunteer firemen David Breazeale and Robert Dew were honored with the “Call to Action” award for saving the life of one of our citizens in a house fire last fall.
David and Robert were two of only 10 awards presented by the Red Cross in the Greater Inland Northwest region for 2017.
We can all be proud of their efforts and those other first responders for Ritzville and east Adams County that include firemen, law enforcement, EMT’s and others.
We can all sleep a little easier knowing those folks are protecting us when we need them most. Congratulations again to David and Robert.
