AAUW to host League of Women Voters

The Ritzville branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will host two members of the League of Women Voters.

Ann Murphy is the president of the League of Women Voters of Washington, and Lin McGinn is the membership chair of the League of Women voters of the Spokane area.

The two will speak at the May 10 meeting held at the Ritz Roadhouse. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. and all interested citizens are invited to attend the presentation.

Founded in 1920, the League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government.

They also work to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and include public policy through education and advocacy.

A few of the current issues include reproductive rights, water use, and information and resources of climate change.
