LRS track succeeds at league meets, preps for Undeberg Invite Saturday

The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos track and field team went on the road to compete in the NE 1B/2B League Meet on Tuesday, April 18, at Valley Christian High School.

The LRS girls’ team continued their successful season by scoring 48 points and placing fifth in the meet.

The girl’s team scored points with two top finishes in the 4x100-meter and 4x200-meter relays.

Individually, four athletes placed in the top three of their events, netting points for the LRS team. {more}}

The Broncos continued competition at the Quincy Invite on April 22.

With only one athlete competing for the LRS boy’s team, the girl’s team stood out amongst the competition.

The LRS girls scored 27 points and placed 10th at the meet.

They were again led in scoring by the relay teams and also by a second place finish from Harder in the discus.

The Broncos return home on Saturday, April 29, to compete in the 12th Annual Undeberg Invitational.

The track and field meet is named in memory of Ritzville native Harold Undeberg, who served an active role in the community and also as a starter at track meets for the Bi-County for 25 years.

The meet is expected to draw more than 500 athletes, and there are currently 31 teams registered.

The Undeberg Invite begins with opening ceremonies at 10:50 a.m. on April 29 at Jimmie Snider Field.

The field events start at 11 a.m., followed by the running events at 11:45 a.m.
