Webb serves as page for Sen. Schoesler

Jordanne Webb, a 10th grade student from Lacrosse High School, recently spent a week at the Capitol working as a page for the Washington State Senate.

Jordanne was one of 30 students who served as Senate pages for the 13th week of the 2017 legislative session.

Ninth Legislative District Sen. Mark Schoesler sponsored her.

“Jordanne was here during one of the busiest weeks of the session and did a great job,” said Schoesler. “I enjoyed getting to know her better.”

The Senate Page Program is an opportunity for Washington students to spend a week working in the Legislature. Students are responsible for transporting documents between offices, as well as delivering messages and mail.

Pages spend time in the Senate chamber and attend page school to learn about parliamentary procedure and the legislative process. Students also draft their own bills and engage in a mock session.

“I really wanted to experience the political process,” said Jordanne. “It’s been everything I expected.”

Jordanne enjoys volleyball, softball, lifeguarding and babysitting.

Jordanne, 16, is the daughter of Jennifer Webb of Washtucna.
