Ribbon Cutting for prescription drop box

Members of the public are invited to a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for a prescription drop box on May 3 at noon at the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

The event is presented by the Rural East Coalition for Health (REACH).

The box will be available for drop off of unused prescriptions 24 hours a day, with no questions asked.

Pills, bags and bottles can be left in the box, but not needles, liquids or aerosols.

The project was made possible through a CAHN Grant and collaboration with Othello Community Hospital, Integrated Healthcare Services and REACH.

The purpose of the drop box is to return unwanted or unused medicines from a home to reduce the possibility of drug abuse or accidental poisoning.

Proper disposal of the medications is the safest and most environmentally sound solution.

For individuals who believe an adult or student is struggling with addiction, call Adams County Integrated Healthcare Services at 509-488-4074.
