Feb. 21, 2:18 a.m. – A complainant on West Sixth Avenue advised of a beeping noise inside of the home. An officer responded and located a smoke alarm with dead batteries. The homeowner was advised to obtain fresh batteries later.
Feb. 21, 11:17 a.m. –
A complainant on West Main Avenue advised of a parking problem. An officer responded but did not observe any parking violations.
Feb. 21, 2:09 p.m. – The Adams County Jail requested a subject be transported to the hospital for evaluation. An officer stood by to assist.
Feb. 21, 9:50 p.m. –
A non-injury collision was reported at Fourth Avenue and Adams Street. An officer responded and determined the vehicle slid on ice into a power pole, causing minor damage to the vehicle.
Feb. 22, 1:00 p.m. – A report was received of a vehicle parked on South Jefferson Street for weeks. The vehicle owner was contacted.
Feb. 22, 2:11 p.m. – An officer responded and assisted child protective services with the interview of a child on Weber Avenue.
Feb. 22, 5:49 p.m. – A report was received that a burglary had occurred at a storage unit on North Chelan Street. An officer responded and determined there were 10 model cars in boxes taken. The burglary remains under investigation.
Feb. 22, 8:00 p.m. – A report of a suspicious subject in the alley who appeared to be hiding was received on West Main Avenue. An officer contacted the subject, who was making a phone call, and advised to move to a different area because of the criminal activity occurring in the area at night.
Feb. 23, 12:50 a.m. –
A fire alarm call was received from a business on Galbreath Way. An officer and the fire department responded. An employee reset the alarm and no fire was located.
Feb. 23, 1:33 a.m. – An alarm was received from a local business on First Avenue. The business was checked and everything was secure.
Feb. 23, 10:50 a.m. – A complainant advised of a lost wallet on Galbreath Way and asked for it to be mailed, if located.
Feb. 23, 1:24 p.m. –
While investigating a storage unit burglary, an officer observed a second unit that had been burglarized. The owner confirmed the burglary and advised fishing poles and a motorcycle helmet had been taken. The burglary remains under investigation.
Feb. 23, 2:58 p.m. –
A report was received of a small pickup in the skateboard park on Cherry Avenue. An officer responded, contacted the driver and observed tracks on the skate ramps. The driver was told to keep his vehicle on the road, and no damage was located on the ramp. The driver was issued a citation for Driving with Wheels off the Roadway.
Feb. 23, 4:05 p.m. – A complainant advised of a two-foot hole in a chain link fence at a storage/impound lot on East Broadway Avenue. The employees advised they had repaired the fence prior to notifying law enforcement. The operator of the impound yard could not determine if anything had been taken.
Feb. 23, 4:02 p.m. –
A report was received about three topless females running around in a field and waving a Canadian flag on Galbreath Way. Upon arrival, the officer was informed they had left in a vehicle traveling eastbound on I-90.
Feb. 23, 11:34 p.m. –
An officer on burglary patrol observed a subject enter an alley between Broadway and Alder Avenue. Due to the large number of burglaries, vehicle prowls and thefts occurring at night, the officer contacted the subject. It was determined the subject, Zachary T. Kiesz, 27, of Hooper had an active warrant out of Spokane County for failure to comply with a court order/DUI. Kiesz was arrested and booked into the Adams County Jail.
Feb. 24, 4:24 a.m. –
A complainant advised of two male subjects in the basement of the home on East Sixth Avenue. An officer responded and searched the residence, but was unable to locate anyone. The complainant advised they would stop calling the police and would have to move.
