LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION

LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION. The Ritzville Public Library remains under construction as contractors work to install an elevator in the historic building. Members of the public are reminded the Library is closed during construction, and the Library staff is currently working out of the Lind-Ritzville High School library. Substantial completion is expected in June, and the project is currently operating on schedule. The Library staff will host a grand elevator opening ceremony in late June or early July. The elevator being installed is a three-stop lift system. The Library staff are planning to have informational displays available outside of the building during the Memorial Day weekend for the public to review and see the progress of the project. Library Director Kylie Fullmer asks residents to not enter the building during construction, but the rocks located near the previous Adams Street entrance of the Library are available for free. -Journal photo by Katelin Davidson
