END OF WATCH

END OF WATCH. Adams County Fire Protection District No. 1/Ritzville Volunteer Firefighters and Ritzville EMTs gathered in front of the fire station on Jan. 18 to honor the life of Jimmie Bostic. The departments were notified of his death earlier in the day on Wednesday, and the End of Watch ceremony was scheduled to celebrate the life of a man who served as a mentor for countless emergency responders. Firefighters and EMTs saluted as Taps were played and the flag was lowered to half staff. Current Ritzville Fire Chief Bill Banner completed the final call of service and rang the bell to signal Bostic’s end of watch. Bostic served as Ritzville Fire Chief and served as an important member of the Ritzville Emergency Medical Service team. His hard work also led to the construction of the Ritzvile Ambulance Association building. -Journal photo by Katelin Davidson
