Ritzville Library hosts Fandom Fair

On Friday, Jan. 27, the Ritzville Public Library will be hosting a Teen Fandom Fair event at their temporary location at the Lind-Ritzville High School Library.

The purpose of the event is to allow teens to share their art work collections and interests in various types of media including books, movies, anime, comics, sports, cartoons, games, television shows and music.

The Fandom Fair acts as way for teens sharing common interests to make new friends and express themselves. The library stated the goal of the event is to promote a judgment free zone for youth to interact and discuss fandoms.

Some examples of fandoms include “The Hunger Games”, “Attack on Titan”, “The Legend of Zelda”, “Seattle Seahawks”, “Star Trek”, “Harry Potter”, “Pokémon”, “Doctor Who”, “Star Wars”, “The Walking Dead”, superheroes, animals and more.

Participants will have the opportunity to create displays based off their fandoms for community members to enjoy and learn about.

The library is looking for participants between the ages of 12-18 who would like to take advantage of the opportunity to discuss their interests with like-minded individuals and share them with the community as well.

The event will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lind-Ritzville High School Library.

Participants are asked to set up their displays from 3:30 to 4 p.m. in order to open the fair to the community from 4 to 5 p.m.
