Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
The holiday season makes us all aware of the blessings in our life and creates a time for individuals to reflect upon the gifts that we have been granted.
As the Superintendent of the Lind-Ritzville Cooperative Schools, I am grateful that I have had the opportunity to spend time with the students within the district. Each child is a blessing and truly reminds me that serving our students is an investment in a brighter future.
I have gotten to observe students excelling in the classroom and growing in a number of areas. I have been able to see their smiles and zeal for life. They are all miracles and I appreciate you entrusting our schools with their education.
I also want to share with you how grateful I am for the employees of our district. Many of you are aware that this fall, Ritzville Grade School was designated as a School of Distinction.
However, what was not as widely publicized was that Ms. Deska and her staff were fractions of points away from receiving the same honor.
Our amazing teachers are supported by great administrators and fantastic paraprofessionals.
Additionally, our students are transported safely to our buildings, and receive nutritious meals, with each of these services being done with a sense of pride by our support personnel.
Lastly, I am thankful for the communities of Lind and Ritzville and the leadership from the board of directors.
Our schools are and continue to be a source of pride for all stakeholders. I appreciate the communities’ efforts in creating an environment that is conducive to learning with a focus on student achievement.
It is my hope that Lind and Ritzville will continue to be communities who value each child and make each day a memorable experience.
Thank you again for your ongoing commitment to education and our schools. Thank you for the blessings that have been provided to me as Superintendent of Lind-Ritzville Cooperative Schools. Please have a joyful holiday season.
Matthew Ellis, Ritzville
