The Ritzville annual Holiday Festival will take place this Friday and Saturday. Local businesses will offer specials and are encouraged to be open Friday evening during the tree lighting.
This year the tree is located at the Carnegie Library with lighting taking place at 5:30 p.m., accompanied by Christmas Carols and refreshments in the library.
Saturday will be a local shopping day with the annual AAUW Holiday Bazaar at the Grade School, and a free children’s movie at the Ritz Theatre at 2 p.m., followed by treats provided by the Ritzville Volunteer Fire Department.
The Ritzville Festivals Association will be selling trees Saturday as well.
A list of prizes donated by local businesses will be on display at the library beginning Friday night. Any local receipts for purchases made Friday and Saturday may be entered for the drawing until 5 p.m. on Monday.
Remember to put your name and phone number on the back of the receipt and check that they are date stamped.
Decorations around town have been donated by a number of folks.
I look forward to seeing you at the tree lighting Friday evening and encourage you to participate in local shopping this weekend. Your community is a great place to shop and show support of those businesses.
