Fond Memories

Last month before the first game of the season I was walking into Jimmie Snider Field and was talking with a member of the class of 1967 who was also a member of the last undefeated Ritzville High School football team. He happened to be a senior on that team.

I said to him, “It was 50 years ago when that 1966 team went undefeated!”

He said, “I know. I can’t believe that it has been 50 years, which makes me feel old”

I said, “It’s not about the years it’s about that great team it was a great experience and something to be proud of.”

He smiled and said, “It was a special team all right.”
