Paul Rossow from Department of Ecology’s (Ecology) Department of Air Quality presented the Lind Town Council with a presentation on outdoor burning rules at their meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
He said the purpose for his presentation is to help people understand the laws and rules of burning due to an increased amount of questions Ecology has been receiving.
He explained the law states if an agricultural farmer has the need to burn, they must receive a permit from Ecology.
Ecology permits around 150,000 acres of agricultural burning per year, said Rossow.
