Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
A new venture combined with an opportunity to serve the local community was all Troy Ryan needed to agree to serve as a real estate agent for McCreary Real Estate.
Establishing a satellite office in downtown Ritzville, Ryan is working for the Quincy based business to serve the needs of those looking to buy or sell a home in Ritzville.
Ryan’s interest in real estate began at a young age as he followed his parents around in the field. As he grew older, he began investing beyond personal properties and always found an interest in finding the perfect tenants for his properties.
Two years ago, Ryan, his wife Teresa and their family moved to Ritzville and quickly fell in love with the community. Ryan said he believes it is not only a great place to raise a family, but also a community filled with great people and resources.
Ryan began his journey to become a real estate agent within the last year, and he initially did not set out to be an agent, but rather learn more about the industry. He began focusing on the investment side of real estate, before altering his focus to become a professional real estate agent.
For nearly 10 years, Ryan has been working in the real estate industry and has gained hands on experience. The decision to pursue a career as an agent served as a natural fit, and Ryan is looking forward to helping serve the needs of the community.
Last spring, Ryan saw an ad from McCreary Real Estate looking for a real estate agent in Ritzville. Ryan met with owner Jeremy McCreary and discussed his goals for the town.
McCreary is focused not only on selling houses in Ritzville, but also on development and building new homes within the community, Ryan said. Ryan immediately saw the opportunity for the potential growth for the community, and hit the ground running as the company’s new agent.
Already the owner of a downtown Ritzville building, the office space served as the perfect location for the new satellite office. Ryan officially opened the doors to customers earlier this month, and is looking forward to continuing customer interaction as well as being a viable business for the downtown area.
Ryan has already had success with selling properties in Ritzville and also garnering leads from area residents as well as individuals from the other side of the state. Ritzville has the benefit of being central to multiple large cities, Ryan said, while providing affordable housing options.
“I’m not only selling houses, I’m selling Ritzville,” Ryan said.
Ryan believes his main purpose is to find buyers their perfect home, and from there, Ritzville will sell itself. With five children in the school system, Ryan stated the schools provide high quality education and the community is safe.
The purpose of the business is not to become rich, Ryan joked, but to offer real estate services to those looking to buy and sell within the community. Ryan said initially he has been receiving calls from interested buyers from the west side, and wants to continue to find available properties for diversity in his listings.
Ryan is focused on finding more properties in order to ensure each customer is finding the home that not only suits their needs, but also their desires for their perfect home.
“It is important to match the right person with the right property,” Ryan stated.
“We’re here to make home sweet home your reality,” Teresa added.
Ryan is hoping to expand the services offered through the business.
One of his primary goals is to bring in a property management company in order to offer rental options for customers. He stated the business posts those properties for free for the customers.
In order to assist homeowners looking to sell properties, Ryan stated the business provides a variety of services to showcase the potential of the home. This includes staging houses for photos and also completing drone photography for a complete overview of the property.
Ryan said they will also help clients sell furniture within the home they are trying to sell, and can assist with services to help improve the overall appearance of the property.
Ryan said they are happy with the initial success of the satellite business and look forward to continuing to improve to find the best home for all their clients. Ryan said the current clients have been pleasantly surprised at the quality and rates of the homes listed in the community.
Along with low property values, Ryan said clients and the business benefit from having a title company and real estate lawyers within the community. Those resources are crucial to the business and to managing the purchase of a home, Ryan said.
Ryan said the company is focused on helping people, whether it is to buy or sell a home. One of the most important aspects of his job is building relationships with the clients, and ensuring every transaction is being completed professionally.
While based out of Quincy, the goal for McCreary Real Estate is to continue to expand throughout the surrounding areas, including Lind, Washtucna and Sprague. In the meantime, they are focused on expanding services to also include a broker or an attorney who could share office space with Ryan.
Ryan said they will continue to pursue options to build new homes in Ritzville, which will not only allow them to have modern homes listed, but also will help increase the property value of other homes in the city.
For those individuals who are not interested in listing their home, but are in the market to sell, Ryan encourages them to contact him about the properties. This provides him with an opportunity to match a buyer and seller, if the needs fit both clients.
Currently, Ryan is available by phone at 630-0661 or by stopping by the office at 107 West Main Avenue.
