Burning season ends June 5

Open burning within Adams County and the city limits of Ritzville will close at dusk on Sunday, June 5, according to Adams County Fire Protection District No. 1 Chief Scott Kembel and Ritzville Fire Chief Bill Banner.

No open fires for the burning of vegetation or other matter are permitted in town or in rural areas. Burning season remains closed until some time in the fall.

The chiefs also remind citizens that as drying conditions become more severe to take extra care with barbecues, cigarettes and as the Fourth of July approaches, fireworks. Any type of outdoor fire requires constant attention and care.
