A “Bingo and BBQ” fundraiser will be held at the Ralston Grange Hall this Saturday. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with bingo starting at 5 p.m. and continuing until 8 p.m.
Food for sale includes BBQ beef sandwiches, hot dogs and beverages.
Prizes will include gift baskets, toys, baby items, Afghans, gift certificates, cash, fresh hams and much more.
All proceeds will go to the Grange’s general fund and used to help sponsor community events and cover ongoing maintenance expenses of the Grange.
The Ralston Grange sponsors a number of events throughout the year including an Easter egg hunt, fair display booth, fair food and bingo concession, Lind Derby breakfast, “Fall Fest” children’s craft activity, Veteran’s Appreciation Night and a community Christmas party.
On Tuesday, April 19, the Grange will host a program put on by the West Plains Skydiving Co. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. with anyone interested in learning more about this unique sport invited to attend.
West Plains has been in business since 1984 and at the Ritzville location since 2007. Over 5000 jumps were made at their facility last year, including about 1000 tandem jumps.
The location has camping and an observation area and people can come out to watch and even stay the weekend.
Representatives of West Plains will talk about some of their experiences and give an interesting insight into the reasons people jump out of perfectly good airplanes.
The next regular meeting of the Grange will be on April 19 following the West Plains program.
