Reasons for voting yes on school bond

I am writing to explain why I am voting YES on the upcoming school bond and why I believe it is important for others to vote YES also.

First: the most important reason is for the kids. As has been explained numerous times, our schools are badly in need of updating in order to provide good conditions for student learning. You can learn more about these details in the excellent informative flyer that has been sent out and by reading previous articles printed in this paper.

Second: for our community. Various groups and many individuals are working hard to revitalize our community. We work to bring in new businesses and to update our downtown area. However, the school system is a huge part of that. Potential businesses and individuals are looking to see if our schools are well supported by this community. Rundown and outdated school buildings send a message that this community doesn’t really care enough to support and keep up the schools.

How can our community thrive and grow while sending a message of apathy toward our schools?
