The Ritzville Grade School hosted a Spring Concert including singing and instruments for the community on March 24 in the grade school gym.
Susan Schafer directed the performance, which included musical numbers from the Preschool and Kindergarten classes and first through fourth grade classes.
The first through fourth graders also showed off their rhythmic skills using instruments such as drums and xylophones.
The concert closed with a performance from the newly formed RGS Choir.
The preschool and kindergarten classes performed two songs, complete with animations. The first was “Funny Bunny” and the second was the “Bunny Rabbit Boogie.”
The first through fourth grade classes in partner with the RGS choir then performed “Keep Your Paws off the Carrots.”
The first grade students then took to the bucket drums to perform two rhythms, followed by the second grade with their boom whackers to perform “Fruit Salad.”
The third grade showed their mallet skills with a “Balafon” song and the fourth graders played a few numbers with their recorders including “Hot Cross Buns” and “Gently Sleep.”
The RGS Choir then sang “Best Day of My Life” for the crowd. The students give up their recess time twice a week to practice.
