Lee Bryan Williams, 83, died Nov. 1, at home in Lincoln, Nebraska. with his wife of 60 years, Carol Sue Williams (Nealey), at his side. Born Feb. 4, 1933, to Zelma and Charles Williams of Lind, wheat farmers.
Lee was a distance runner and clarinet player in high school in Lind, graduating second in his class. He attended Washington State College in Pullman, where he attained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1957.
Lee entered civil service with the USDA as a federal meat inspector where he spent a 35 year career eventually retiring as circuit supervisor for the Nebraska and Kansas district in 1990.
He moved with his wife from Grand Island, Nebraska to Colorado Springs upon his retirement. He spent his retired years tinkering and helping fellow retirees as a handyman.
He was a devoted husband, father and church elder, giving of his skills, time and resources. Lee was loved and respected by all who were touched by his grace.
He touched many in his vast travels having over 17 addresses through out the western United States including California, Idaho, Washington, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Colorado.
He loved to camp with his family taking trips through out the US always including visits to family, natural wonders and engineering marvels.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Sue (Nealey) Williams, son Noman of Wichita, son Andrew Williams, Lincoln, daughter Kitty (Williams) Fynbu, Lincoln, son Dewight Williams, Springfield, Pennsylvania and sister Kathleen Williams, Lincoln. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Charlotte (Williams) Lamson, Jack Williams and Robert Williams.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Monday, June 20, at Lind Community Church.
