Sauer becomes Eagle Scout

Aaron Sauer of Troop 62 was awarded the Rank of Eagle Scout, the Boy Scouts of America’s highest honor, on July, 2 2015.

Troop 62, sponsored by Meridian United Methodist Church in Idaho, held a Court of Honor to bestow the Eagle Scout Award on Oct. 31, 2015.

Aaron Sauer is the son of Brian and Teresa Sauer of Meridian, Idaho, and grandson of JoAnn Sauer of Ritzville. He graduated from Rocky Mountain High School and has been involved in Scouting since March 2005.

Aaron Sauer, 18, has also participated in high school marching band, a mission trip to California with his youth group this summer and a staff member at the National Youth Leadership Training.

Aaron’s Eagle Scout Service Project was making two benches for the courtyard at the Meridian United Methodist Church.

As Scouting teaches young Americans the principles of self-reliance and goal setting, Aaron’s future plans are attending Boise State University, majoring in Computer Science. He plays trombone in the Blue Thunder Marching Band.
