Long-time Ritzville resident, Vivian L. (White) Rehn, 83, died on Dec. 21.
Born to Anna (Franson) and Robert White of Ritzville on Oct. 17, 1932.
Vivian grew up on a farm 12 miles north of Ritzville along Crab Creek at Rocky Ford.
She attended the country school with her sister and brother only a short distance from her home until attending Ritzville High School where she graduated in 1950.
She fell in love and married Gordon Rehn of Ritzville on June 2, 1951, at Ritzville’s Zion Congregational Church. The couple lived nearly all of their married life on a small farm about a mile west of Ritzville in a home Gordon and his father, Henry, built for the new family.
Jesus and her church were very important to Vivian – the same church where she was baptized and married, her children baptized and three of her grandchildren were also baptized. She also taught Sunday school, was a deacon, and finally, it will be the location of her funeral.
Vivian worked as a billing clerk and retired from Big Bend Electric in Ritzville.
Vivian is survived by her two children Lawrence and Julie (Walsh) Rehn, Electric City and Ronald and Jamie (Evans) Rehn, Colville.
She has five grandchildren Jess, Jake, Andrew, Emily, and Michael Rehn and two great-grandchildren Brianna and Hailey Rehn. She is also survived by her brother Gilbert White, Ritzville and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Vivian is predeceased by her loving husband, Gordon Rehn, and her sister, Evelyn Weber.
Funeral services will be held at the Zion Philadelphia United Church of Christ at 301 East Broadway Avenue in Ritzville at 11 a.m., Dec. 29, with reception following in the fellowship hall and interment at the Ritzville Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Zion Philadelphia UCC in Ritzville or to any charity of your choice.
