Caring Neighbors, a nonprofit entity established by Big Bend Electric Cooperative, recently donated $500 to the Washtucna School District Reading program. Caring Neighbors Board Member Stevie Coon presented the check to Washtucna School Teacher Janet Camp, who coordinates the program.
The Reading program is designed to help promote independent reading by immersing each student in books and regular reading activities..
This is the 24th consecutive year that this program has been in place.
Funds for Caring Neighbors have been donated by Big Bend Electric Co-op members....
