Olive “Poody” Riedel Harder

Olive “Poody” Riedel Harder died Wednesday, October 21. Born November 17, 1929, Olive was 85 years old.

In those years Olive filled the world with love and laughter. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Olive is preceded in death by her parents; Olive “Ollie” (Collins) and Arthur A. Riedel, Sr.; her husband John Harder, MD; and her grandson Robert John Harder.

Olive is survived by her beloved brother and sister-in-law; Arthur A. and Janet Riedel, Jr.; her nephew James Collin Riedel; her niece Christina (Riedel) Semered; her children John Arthur, James Lee, Jeffrey George, Hans “Hank” Joseph, and Gretchen Riedel; and 10 cherished grandchildren.

Olive’s children invite family and friends to join them from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, at the University of Portland as they honor their mother in a spirit of friendship, as was Olive’s hallmark.
