Lady Broncos have a tough week against Davenport, Kittitas

The Lady Broncos played two hard fought games on the road last week with both ending in losses.

The teams stayed in the games with close scores in both matches but were unable to secure wins mostly due to serving errors.

In the first match of last week on Thursday against Davenport they fell to the Lady Gorillas with set scores of: 25-18, 17-25, 17-25, 9-25.

This game was a true battle in the first three sets with 19 kills and 32 digs from the Lady Broncos. By the fourth and final set the team was unable to come together and fight for the win.

The match held 14 serving errors and 16 hitting errors which accounted for the low score in the final set.

Tessa Jantz led her team in kills with ten for the match followed by Rachel Schell and Madison Harder with three each.

The team collectively had a serving in percent of 82.5 which became their biggest downfall of the match.

In their second game of the week on Saturday versus the Kittitas Lady Coyotes the Lady Broncos lost with scores of: 11-25, 20-25, 23-25.

In this game the team got off to a slow start and were unable to get situated into the match until the second set. The final two sets the team began to be a battle for the Lady Coyotes.

The serving percentage for the team was only slightly higher totaling in at 83.3 percent with 10 serving errors.

The team performed well offensively during this Saturday game with Jantz having nearly half of the teams 20 kills. Harder followed closely behind with five.

Though the team played tougher offensively during this match they still accumulated 13 hitting errors.

Defensively the team played as one with 36 total digs. Lacey Miller was in the setter position for the match and led her team with 11 digs, she was followed by Schell with 10.

The team fought hard in this match after struggling to gain ground in the first set.

The team faced off at home versus the Liberty Lady Lancers Tuesday, Oct. 20 for Pink Night in support of Breast Cancer.

The Lady Broncos are on the road for a league match versus Colfax on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Broncos have their Senior Night volleyball game on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 12:30 p.m. in the Gilson Gymnasium.

This is a league match versus the Kettle Falls Lady Bulldogs.
