Appearing on the General Election ballot as a candidate for Lind Town Council Position No. 5 is Nick Meyers, a Lind resident who filed for election last spring.
During a recent candidate forum at the Lind Senior Center, Meyers appeared briefly to address the crowd and discuss the upcoming election.
“I like these people, I like their ideas. And I help people individually; I haven’t done much for volunteering for the town. I asked about volunteering one time,” Meyers stated.
“And honestly, I don’t think I would be great on council because I don’t have a lot of support. Most of you don’t like me and have never met me. And so I would be happier to support someone else than to run, at this point.”
Though Meyers’ statement implies he is no longer interested in running for the position, his name remains on the ballot because of the late notice to pull his candidancy.
Meyers stated at the candidate forum his initial reason for becoming active in the community was to help build a dog park in Lind.
