Welcoming new teachers to local schools: Lind-Ritzville Cooperative School District - Jessica Normile

Jessica Normile is a new teacher at Lind-Ritzville Middle School where she is teaching sixth-eighth grade middle level math.

Normile grew up in Kirkland, Washington just outside of Seattle.

She recently moved to Ritzville and stated, “I am enjoying being a part of the small town environment. Everybody has been exceptionally welcoming and friendly.”

Normile attended Whitworth University in Spokane, which is what brought her to the east side of the state.

She received her undergraduate and her graduate degree from Whitworth where she graduated in August of 2015. Her undergraduate degree is in Communications and her Master’s degree is in Elementary Education.

This year she is most excited to see her students grow and develop their skill sets in math. Additionally, she is excited to be involved in school-related activities and learn about the community.

“I am also excited to watch various sports events to come and cheer on my students,” Normile said.

For this year she is looking forward to getting to know her students, “I am excited to challenge my students to grow academically, personally and socially,” she said.

In her free time, Normile enjoys spending time with her family and freiends. She also has two golden retrievers named Baylor and Addie that she enjoys walking.

She additionally loves to read and do “basically anything that is outdoor related in the sun.”

Normile stated, “I am grateful for how welcoming the community has been thus far and I am eager to continue to foster new relationships throughout the year. Go Bulldogs!”

Normile can be contacted at 659-1720.
