Welcoming new teachers to local schools: Lind-Ritzville Cooperative School District - Jessica Magnuson

Jessica Magnuson is a new first grade teacher at Ritzville Grade School. She is excited to get to know the Ritzville community and the staff at the grade school.

Magnuson is from Medical Lake and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Eastern Washington University. She received her Master’s in education with an elementary emphasis from Whitworth University.

This will be her 13th year of teaching. She is really excited to have a fun filled year of learning with her class.

Magnuson has been married to her husband Jeff for two years. Jeff works for BNSF Railway in Cheney as a section foreman. They live outside of Cheney in Tyler.

Together they have six nieces and nephews that they enjoy spending time with and they have one more on the way in October. The couple has a dog called Magnum. Magnuson is very family oriented and attends many family dinners and gatherings.

Magnuson and her family enjoy spending time at their cabin on Deer Lake where they hike, kayak, boat, fish and ride their dirt bikes and four wheelers.

She has additionally been playing guitar for three years and enjoys it immensely. She even brings the guitar into the classroom to enhance learning for her first graders.
