Cora A. Hunter

Cora A. Hunter, 94, of Yakima, died Sept. 10, at Peach Tree Retirement Center.

Cora was born in Texas on February 2, 1921, to Ira and Bessie Bearden. She grew up on a farm in Oklahoma in a large family of eight girls and two boys. Cora graduated from Dixon High School in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

She married Marvin Collier in January 1941 and moved to Washington state in 1949.

Cora worked as a cook, salesperson and a dispatcher for the Adams County (Ritzville) Sheriff’s Office; she was mostly a homemaker and mother. She had lived in Moses Lake, Coulee City and Ritzville before moving to Yakima three...
