AAUW to host book, bake sale Saturday

The Ritzville Branch of American Association of University Women will be holding a used book sale in downtown Ritzville on Saturday, Sept. 12, in conjunction with the annual health fair.

A wide selection of books will be available in all genres. Patrons will be given a bag and pay only $5 for what they can put into it.

The group will also be selling a selection of homemade baked goods.

Proceeds from both sales will go into a scholarship fund used to send local junior high girls to the Tech Trek program held each summer at one of the state’s universities.

Participants from all over the state are exposed to science, technology, and math, acquiring skills, learning, and leadership in these areas.

This year’s scholars from Lind-Ritzville were: Rachel Nygren, Haley Kulm and Diamond Spain.
