Steven Kenneth Devore, 73, was born on June 17, 1942, in Ritzville, to Kenneth and Shirley DeVore. Steve passed away after a three year battle with cancer on August 10.
He graduated from Lind High School in 1961. Steve served in the Navy and attended Washington State College for one year.
Steve returned to the family farm in Lind and farmed with his father until 1988. He then worked for the Adams County Road Department until retiring in 2009.
Throughout his life Steve enjoyed being outdoors whether it be fishing, hunting, or shooting sports. He was an avid supporter of the NRA, and would jump at the chance to share his views on any political topic that came up.
Throughout his battle with cancer Steve always kept a positive attitude regardless of the situation and never lost his humor or his faith.
Steve is survived by his wife Raquel, sisters Hazel (Ben) Webb, Diana (Paul) Seuberlich, and Donna (Craig) Kelsey, sons Darin (Christine) DeVore and Travis (Jaime) DeVore, daughters Kristina (Charles) Restivo, and Amy (David) Cormier, step son John (Kandy) Foulkes, 12 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Shirley DeVore. A service will be held at the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Lind on Friday, September 4, at 1 p.m.
