Oregon Coast Adventure with Alpha Omega

We began our journey going south on Hwy. 395 crossing into Oregon at Umatilla then went west on I-84 along the Columbia River.

Between The Dalles and Hood River at the Memaloose rest area, we stopped for our picnic lunch.

We arrived into Lincoln City around 6 p.m.

The next day we attended a kite making workshop given by local professionals. That afternoon traveled north on Hwy. 101.

We seen the famous Tillamook Cheese Factory. That evening we enjoyed the ocean, the wonderful view as the sun set over the horizon.

We went into town to see the Kite Festival. I took a picture of a drone.

We loaded up early, drove south to Depoe Bay, continuing down Hwy. 101 to Newport. Seen the Oregon Coast Aquarium Secrets of the Shipwrecks. We then drove into Bay Street (some call it old town Newport) watched the incoming fishing boats.

Had a tour at the U.S. Coast Guard Rescue Station. The history of the station located at Yaquina Bay goes back more than a century.

In 1896 the first U.S. life saving service station was opened at South Beach. In 1906 the U.S. life saving station moved to its present site at Yaquina Point Lighthouse.

Loaded up early. Drove by to look at the Oregon State Capital.

We seen the Multnomah Falls, which drops a breath taking 611 feet. Our last stop was Mercantile Store, everybody got a double dip ice cream cone.

There is a lot of fun and adventure left in 2015.

Bring a friend and make new friends. Touring on Big Red is a lot of fun.
