Melville finishes third in state tennis

Freshman athlete Rose Melville returned home from the Tennis State Championship in Yakima with a third place medal. She competed in the singles tournament on May 27-28.

Rose, the only Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Bronco to qualify for state, showed her expertise early in the tournament in order to earn the third place finish.

LRS Bronco Mark Wilbers qualified as an alternate for state, and spent the last week helping Melville prepare for her state competition.

Head Coach Liz Melville said the extra practice and Wilbers’ assistance in training helped boost Rose’s level of play at state.
