Tessa Jantz earned a ninth place finish in the 2B State Golf Championships at the Columbia Point Golf Course in Richland on May 27-28.
With two rounds of golf being played, Jantz scored a 95 during the first round of competition.
The first round placed her in the top seven of the 30 girls competing in the golf tournament.
Only the top 15 athletes earned the opportunity to compete in the second round.
During the second round, Jantz scored a 96, giving her a total of 191 and tying Jordyn Smith of Oroville for ninth place. She trailed the seventh place finishes by one stroke.
Head Coach Nick Weishaar said, “Tessa played very well and finished top 10 in the state for the girls. I was very proud and happy for her.”
As a sophomore, this is Jantz’s second year of competing in the state golf tournament.
