Wrong way parking is illegal

Had a interesting conversation with an officer from the Ritzville Police Department this morning April 29, 2015. This concerns left wheel to the curb parking. That is to say parking on the wrong side of the street. Facing on coming traffic.

The police officer told me that there is a state law against this kind of parking. It is not illegal to park left wheel to the curb on a one way street.

If I understood the police officer, this practice of parking on the wrong side of the street is over looked. The police officer told me he sees it all the time.
