Jerry Lewis Katsel was born to George and Thelma Katsel May 14, 1942. Jerry grew up and attended school in Walla Walla. Dec. 29, 1961 Jerry married the love of his life Dorothy Mae Wilson.
Jerry and Dottee moved to Lind in 1964 where they settled and raised their two children. Kenny Katsel and Terri (Haynes) Katsel. After Dottee’s passing on October 25th, 2013 where he lived until his passing on April 7th, 2015. Upon moving to Lind Jerry worked for different farmers until he started working for the City of Lind until his retirement.
Jerry was a very hard working man, but when he came home at night he loved his family time. The kids in Lind and young adults alike knew they were always welcome at Dottee and Jerry’s home. The amount of laughs were astronomical and priceless as everyone always had a good time with Dottee and Jerry.
Jerry is survived by his son Kenny Katsel and his wife Terrie. His daughter Terri Haynes, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister Bonnie Carvajal.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dottee Mae Katsel, one granddaughter Kimberly Marie Katsel, his parents, George and Thelma Katsel, and his two sisters Thelma (Clayton) Katsel, Nancy (Ellis) Katsel, and his brother Lee Katsel.
A graveside service for Jerry will be held at the Lind cemetery Saturday April 25th at 11:30 a.m. followed by a barbeque and potluck at the Lind City Park. The dinner will be moved indoors if inclement weather occurs.
